New Post – Photo will not load

I am trying to post pictures to my blog using the “New Post” and “Photo” options. When I click the “Select Photo” button, the image loads to 100%, but does not display. It appears I am only using just over 500 megs of the 3 gigs allotted. I have posted many photos this way for months. Please let me know what I need to do to continue updating my blog.

Where do i see the URL of the photo on my hard drive? I cannot get it to upload to my blog, so as far as I know there is no URL.

Hi Raincoaster,
I had been using the “New Post”, then “Select a Photo” button and pulling the image off of my hard drive. This morning, I went to Media and uploaded the images I want to post, then used the “Fetch a Photo URL” option. I think that will work.
I wonder why the other method stopped working…

I had the same issue with New Post -selects image and say 100% and nothing happens. But if I use Internet Explorer I have no issue using this method. With Chrome I must go to dashboard, open post/or new post ,add Media, then select and add here and then to post. Only started happening a month or so ago.

Thanks. It used to work on Chrome, but recently it stopped. I am glad I’m not the only one. :)

yes I thought it was just me…I have recently got windows 8.1 – did you? I also have been having trouble with my user id not showing on some peoples posts – that seems to be the same sort of thing – if I use IE it works fine. But it sued to work before – so what has changed?

I don’t know what changed, but I am not an IE fan, so I guess I will just use the workaround.

When selecting new post, photo, you used to be able to upload directly to the post…now you cant. Unless you use IE.

You still need to upload the photo to the media library before you put it in a post. Then it has a URL.

Do you have any idea how many blog posts I make in a day? It works fine for me. You upload the image to the media library and then it has a URL. That is the URL I am asking for.

I am not disagreeing that that system works…try using IE and new post/photo and select a photo saved somewhere like …my pics…and upload direct…see if it works for you…might save you some time. It worked for me for almost a year on chrome then something changed but still works in IE

Do you mean this entire thread is because you want the uploader to work the way it used to? WordPress.com staff make changes. It happens.

Do you support chrome? That is my question. Looks like WordPress doesn’t…that is all I needed to know.

Yes, I am using Chrome. It works fine with WP.com. I switched from Firefox because FF was overheating my computer.
