New Post Won't Appear in Tags
-
My latest blog post was published 4 days ago on the 15th and it still hasn’t shown up in the tags. This has never happened to me before. I’ve familiarized myself with the rules of missing posts, but I have fewer than 15 tags. One of the tags that I used and tried to find my post in is “movie memorabilia”.
Is there any suggestion to try for my post to appear in the reader tags? Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Are you speaking of the post, https://vintagestardust.wordpress.com/2020/01/15/collecting-movie-memorabilia/?
I don’t see anything wrong with the tags, but it appears they weren’t indexed by our internal search engine when the post was published. Please try setting your site to private, and then back to public, and then check after a few hours if you see your posts under those tags. Changing the privacy setting should trigger a re-index of your site, which should make them appear.
Let us know if you still don’t see any difference after a few hours.

I set the blog to private and then back to public. That seemed to do the trick! Thanks!
I have another question though. If I delete the post and then go back to the trash and recover it, would that publish it on my blog with the old date or the current one? And would all of the images and captions still be preserved in the post?

It will publish with the old date, and will show up on tag pages way back when it was originally published. If you start a draft and work on it for days and then publish it later, the “publication date” is the original date you started it on. So that’s a reason not to hang on to drafts; nobody will ever see them on the tag pages.
The media will all still be in place, as long as you haven’t deleted it from the Media Library.

Sorry, I didn’t word that very well. Here’s what I should’ve said:
Since my current post from almost a week ago had to be indexed (from the directions above) and has barely shown up in the tags, in many of the more popular tags it won’t be seen unless someone scrolls for a long time.
So I was wondering if I were to delete this already published post, then recover it to publish it again–now that my posts show up in the tags–would the recovered post publish with today’s date or the original one?
I hope this makes sense and apologize if it’s silly or wordy, I’m just trying to make sure that I understand. Thanks!

I get it now.
Don’t do that. It will only show the original post date, and be even farther back in the tag pages because of the passage of time. Recovering a post does not help you.
What you can do instead is click to the HTML editor, copy the entire thing, delete the post, and create a brand new one. Paste into the HTML editor, not the visual editor, and it should all be there. You’ll have to add a title, maybe tweak the URL, add tags and categories as appropriate, and then Publish.
Do not do this repeatedly, or staff will ban you from all the tag pages. It was a fad a few years ago when some “guru” told everyone to republish their stuff to bump it to tag pages over and over, and all those people had their blogs banned from tag pages.

I understand. Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t even think of reposting at all let alone making a habit out of it. Seems I’ll have to use my best judgement, but hopefully if I decide repost just this once I won’t get banned.
Thank you for taking the time to help me. I appreciate it!
