New posting layout – I don't like it!

    Hi guys

    I’ve had the new posting layout foisted on me without any warning, and I have to say I don’t like it for a number of reasons.

    The ‘link to existing content’ feature was very useful in my blog. It’s disappeared without any explanation. I have to open another tab in my browser, cut-and-paste the link, and then put the link in place. Very clunky, not user-friendly at all IMHO.

    The additional formatting tabs when posting in HTML have vanished as well. I need to keep switching from HTML to Visual, and then back again. I’m pretty good at inline coding now, but I can’t remember all the shortcuts.

    The Scheduler feature appears to lack the option to set a time. The date can be changed okay, but not the time.

    The Tags and Categories feature is slow to actuate, and doesn’t display the ‘most used tags’ window any more.

    I’ve tried adding a YouTube video to a post, but it’s like trying to paint the Forth Bridge. Every time I think it’s worked, I have to return to the start.

    The interface seems very slow to respond on the whole.

    I daresay I’ll find other gripes as I go on, but those are the ones I’ve come across so far. The ‘new improved posting experience’ (beep beep boop) wasn’t great, but it was miles ahead of the latest revision. At the risk of sounding like a Luddite or a dinosaur, I’d much rather have the ‘classic’ dashboard back.

    Could I suggest that next time you’re planning to impose a new interface on us, you allow us to beta test it for a month or so and then implement it. It would save a lot of headaches and probably run much more smoothly. Just sayin …’ ;-)
