The new posting method (vs the “classic”) does not work for me. How can I get the “classic” back?

Although we cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor and make the classic editor our default we do not have to the new editor. I don’t use it at all. Thank you! That is SOOO helpful. I use WP because it’s simple for me. The new editor changes that completely. I really appreciate being able to access the Classic editor.

The Beep Beep Boop editor is an abomination. I know how to access the classic editor, but find it aggravating when the BBB editor comes up. For a while the classic editor came up automatically, but today the BBB editor comes up. Today the BBB editor does not have the option to switch to the classic editor. Please, at least make the classic editor the default. If someone wants to use the BBB editor (and I cannot imagine why) then they should have the option. For the rest of us, make the classic editor the option.

The Penguin https://tpenguinltg.wordpress.com/2015/03/14/a-hack-to-use-the-classic-editor-in-wordpress-com/ has written a script to get to the usable editor, rather than the beep-boop, from all places. There are two simple downloads. I agree, and I am now Happy. The edit button on each post and page now works.

Sadly, the workaround is no longer working. WP Happiness folks, if you’re listening, I’m not happy. The classic editor works. It takes me less than 5 minutes every day to post. The BBB thing is confusing, doesn’t allow me to simply drop in photos without a lot of resizing, etc., doesn’t give me access to all my categories and is generally a pain to use. I’ve now clicked on your message “How can we help you?” more than once, but when I start typing it disappears. I came to WP because you were easy and had good support for a non-techno geek like me. I’m changing my mind fast.

What I published for using the classic editor to create and publish posts and locating the old stats pages do work. Of that I have no doubt.I’ve now clicked on your message “How can we help you?” more than once, but when I start typing it disappears.
That is a different issue. Please use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 so you can copy and paste your text in that quote into a new thread where you will get the help you need. Then type live chat and modlook into the sidebar tags on the new thread.

I lonely re-posted because no one responds to my questions. Look back at the dates and see how many times I have asked the same questions over and over.

I posted a graphic poem. I made some changes to a picture. I decided to be adventurous and use the BBB editor to add the updated photo. I added the photo. The BBB editor said “Update made, Lookin’ Great,” or something like that. I looked at the updated post. Instead of the 720×447 size I usually use, the new picture was 300×186. That is in pixels, which I suspect the designer of the BBB editor does not know. Anyway, I went to the hassle of opening the classic editor, and added the updated picture. It was sized 720×447, as G-d intended. I probably will not make any more efforts to post with the BBB editor.
