My “New Post” function does not work. The screen locks and I have to leave WordPress to do anything else.

Don’ use it then. I never do. Create your posts on your own blog’s dashboard > Posts > Add New

It seems some if not all Volunteers answering these support questions don’t create new posts here https://wordpress.com/post/ because doing so can be glitchy. To me the set up here looks like a kindergarten one. I believe it’s designed for those who who are mobile blogging and quickly publishing cat pictures, quotes, etc. in post formats that I don’t use. I don’t use Beep Beep Boop because I require all of the post editor features, and they are only found when creating a new post on your own blog’s dashboard.

Timethief – Thanks for the link. That got me into New Post. However, even this morning, whether I use the icon or even press “new post” from my posts page, it still locks up with the timer in the middle. I tried several routes in – always the some response. Your link is currently my only way in, and I thank you!

What browser and version are you using? Are you running McAfee virus protection? Is your ISP Sky Broadband, perchance?
