New posts have disapeared / I deleted the page

  • Unknown's avatar

I have either deleted or changed the settings on the page where new posts appear. Now when I make a new post I cannot see it in any of the pages on the wordpress site. I can preview it but when I then go to another page there is no tab/page to go back the new posts. What have I done and how can I undo it

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For starters we need the URL beginning with http of the blog in question before anyone can give you accurate advice.

Please link you username to your blog. Here’s how to do that > Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary WordPress.com blog starting and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

P.S. If you do not wish to link your username to your blog then please post the URL for the blog in question each time you post to this forum.

Let’s first clear up whether or not you are referring to Pages, which are for static content that rarely changes and sit outside the blog structure. Or you are actually referring to Posts, which are displayed in reverse chonological order on the front page of your blog. http://support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

If you have set up a custom menu and your Pages and/or sub-pages are not appearing please try this. Please check the Pages themselves to see if you have established a Parent page and child page “hierarchical structure” in the page attributes module. Remove if required. Also remove any “order” numbers you have assigned that may conflict with the order you are creating by dropping and dragging. Or simply change them so they are the same order as you establish in the menu. Establish consistency – problem solved.

If “Blog Spot” is the tab you want for your posts, go to Settings>Reading, select that page from the “Posts page” pulldown, scroll down and click Save Changes.
