New ‘Posts view’
-
This new view just took on my blog today, though I had seen hints of it in the recent past> I have to say that I’m not entirely fond of it, the infiite scroll, as opposed to the ‘pages’ views. I tell you, having to scroll through over 5000 posts isn’t exactly very functional as opposed to choosing a ‘page.’ The same goes for scheduled posts and drafts. I might have a choice to at least go to the end or the beginning of each list of posts.

Hi there,
What is the URL of the site where you are seeing the infinite scroll feature all of a sudden? In general, you have the option to disable infinite scroll:
https://wordpress.com/support/infinite-scroll/#disabling-infinite-scroll
However, I’d be happy to verify that there hasn’t been any update to the theme you are using which would cause the change.
Thanks,

It’s not on the blog itself. Here is one of three.
https://thevaleofsoulmaking.wordpress.com/
It’s when I log in to Site Admin and go to look at my posts i.e. published, scheduled, drafts, trash
it is on that particular page, or pages, that I have to scroll through all the posts. There is a search, but it’s a bit bedside the point when I am simply trying to keep track of the time & order I scheduled posts & drafts. I have to scroll through nearly 5k published posts & 400 scheduled.

Ok, I know what you’re referring to.
Would you mind letting us know why you are frequently referring back to older posts? That will help us consider some changes.

I do a lot of scheduling. It wasn’t until last week I received an email telling me I couldn’t schedule more than 400 posts. I never knew that, but it did say I could use drafts as an option. I have a multitude of posts already written out in MS Word and I just staying ahead of the game and in doing so I refer to the Posts page frequently, but mostly scheduled posts, so I can find where I left off more easily. It used to be, on the scheduling page, it would list the more recently scheduled post first, not the next post to be scheduled, and so I knew exactly where I left off in the Word document. That is to say I didn’t have to scroll to the end of all the posts to see where I left off, but I do now because my last scheduled post is at the very end of the list. I might at least suggest an option to view all aspects of Posts to either view from the first and/or from the last “post,” because, in the least, that option is no longer available unless a person scrolls through all the screens rather than view them in 20 post increments as it was before. I simply thought it was fine the way it was. I don’t know what we have gained from this But these are my reasoning, why does anyone go the the Posts page?I think when one starts scheduling posts & writing drafts, along with posts published, you eventually wind up with a very large number of posts to manage, and that is the entire purpose of the Post pages, is it not? But in my mind, this does not make the job of managing all your posts in one place easier or even more efficient. Now we have just one big mondo list of posts that we have to, literally, scroll through. It’s cumbersome. It’s tedious. And in my opinion, someone who uses it quite regularly, it is no where nmear as functional as it was before.
Thank you.
Thank you.
important or they wouldn’t have it. -
I might add, that one can no longer go to thEse pages and mass edit or delete posts, as many as twenty at a time4. That feature no longer exists, especially in Trash. Now one will have to delete all posts individually, and that can be horribly time consuming, although, I don’t currently have anything in Trash, so I do not know if the Empty Trash option still exists… Nevertheless, I cannot not do it on the published, shedculed & draft pages.

Hi there,
Instead of scrolling to try and locate your older posts, you can use the search function which is way faster.
As for mass editing posts, you can do it from the old interface if you visit the following address:
https://thevaleofsoulmaking.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php
I don’t currently have anything in Trash, so I do not know if the Empty Trash option still exists
Yes, it does.

I have to add one more thing, as I’m working on posts today. They have neglected to use dates. they simply use things like: Two days ago, or Tomorrow or Sunday at 7:10, for example. But absolutely no Calendar Dates. The only way a person can see the actual date it was published or scheduled is to open the Edit link, and even then, you will not see a specific date in a Draft unless you have plans to schedule.
I do not feel this view was thoroughly thought out before it was applied. And after blogging here for ten years, I can’t be the only one who manages their posts like this. It’s the very reason that the view was the way it was and has been for years. It is certainly not a more efficient way of keeping track of ones post, instead, you have made it more tedious. I’m just saying. To me, it looks as though someone attempted to make the view phone friendly. I wouldn’t consider someone like that a serious blogger. I have seen their blogs.
Thank you.

Hi there
They have neglected to use dates. they simply use things like: Two days ago, or Tomorrow or Sunday at 7:10, for example. But absolutely no Calendar Dates.
If a post is scheduled to publish within 7 days, you will see the actual day of the week as the publish day for the post.
If a post is scheduled to publish beyond 7 days from today, you will see Month and day; for example,
March 25, which is the actual calendar date.Let us know if you do not see this, or are seeing something different.
