New posts won't share to Facebook

    I have supposedly set up my blog to automatically publish new posts to my (personal) Facebook page. The setup went smoothly, and under the ‘Sharing Settings’ on my dashboard, Facebook is shown as ‘connected’ to my personal account.

    However, it has never published a post to my Facebook page, and there is no ‘sharing buttons’ available under the ‘available services’ setting (only ’email’ and ‘print’).

    Am I missing something? I’ve set it all up as directed and yet it just doesn’t seem to work! Could it be because my blog is password protected / invitation only? Whenever I’ve shared posts myself (i.e. by copying and pasting the link into a new Facebook post), it has just come up with a preview saying “protected blog”, but people who are on my invitation list can still click through to read the new post.

    Can anyone help / advise please?

    That is the reason, yes. Publicize and social media sharing buttons are only available for public blogs. They won’t work on a private blog like yours.
