  The question mark is part of our efforts to make navigating help and support easier for WordPress.com users. Thus, it cannot be removed.

  However, I will pass on your feedback to the team about if it should appear in distraction-free mode.

  The question mark does very little for someone who’s been using WP for a long time. It would be better in a regular menu.

  Having said that distraction free is only good if you don’t hide everything so well that people can’t find it. IMHO there’s too much distraction free in the new interface and no obvious route to the tools, which used to be obvious.

  Reinventing the wheel is only good if you make it better. Currently old WP has more form and function than the new.
