New role bridging author/contributor role

Hi! This is a suggestion for the wordpress team.

My son has expressed interest in blogging and I’m happy to encourage him, but I don’t feel he’s old enough for his own blog. So I’ve set up a new blog under my own account and invited him to be a “contributor”.

The only problem with the arrangement is contributors can’t upload pictures – something he wants to do.

I wonder if the wordpress team would consider a category of guest writer which basically gives the invited person the ability to do anything an “author” can do except publish.

This also came up once before when I was guest posting on someone else’s blog and it was a pain to have to email through my photos and set out directions on where to put them – they weren’t comfortable to hand over their publish button as it was part of a blogging event/series.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
