New Self-Hosted WordPress Install – Internal Links Not Working

    I’ve had a heck of a time working this one out. I’ll preface everything by saying I am a COMPLETE NEWBIE so any suggestions need to be on the level a 3yo would understand, LOL.

    After setting up the hosting etc I left the default template up and then imported from Blogger. Being that I was still on Old Blogger (the template generator I used on Blogger only worked in Classic/Old Blogger) I did have to switch to New Blogger first, but that went fine, the links to other internal pages (categories, archives etc) all worked fine. Then I uploaded and changed theme. I can’t remember if it was exactly then but sometime around this time (and when I started tweaking the CSS manually), the internal links stopped working and I now get an error that says this:

    The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

    Please try the following:

    If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    Open the lizzieshome.com home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
    Click the Back button to try another link.
    Click Search to look for information on the Internet.

    HTTP 404 – File not found
    Internet Explorer

    Thinking it might have been an install problem I tried creating a new user and re-importing from Blogger – no dice. I just ended up with (duh) duplicates of everything which I then had to delete manually (and I also deleted the new user).

    I’m fairy desperate to solve this issue as I can’t go live before I fix it. Web host has been contacted and I’ve asked several folks on blogging forums to help but still no closer to fixing the problem.

    Any suggestions?
