  I paid for my domain name and hosting with godaddy. The word press came with my hosting for free. How do I set up my word press website?

  Hey lisalkl,

  Whenever you buy a web hosting from any company other than WordPress.com, you use the standalone WordPress software.

  It means we don’t have any control over it. You create a self-hosted WordPress.org website.

  WordPress.com and WordPress.org and two different platforms. To know more, please read this.

  Hi Ravichahar,

  I think I should cancel my hosting with godaddy and just go with WordPress.com. It looks so much easier. What do you think?

  Is there such a thing as simply changing host from GoDaddy to wordpress.com for my hosting? I did not start my website yet because it is too hard.

  Hi Again,

  Sorry, I just double checked and I made an account with WordPress.com 4 days ago. But I think it was the download from GoDaddy. I am not sure. HEEELLLP!

  Hi lisalkl,

  If you haven’t created a site on your GoDaddy hosting yet, there won’t be any content to move over to WordPress.com so you can start afresh. Creating a site on WordPress.com is the first step and you can do that here:

  https://wordpress.com/start/

  The domain you registered through GoDaddy can be connected to WordPress.com with domain mapping:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
