New Site Address Shortlinks

Hi. I changed and updated one of my blogs to a new site address name and deleted the old one. Everytime I will type the subject title on google search engine, it redirects to the old site address which has nothing inside it. I tried using the shortlink and it also redirects to the old address. Is there any way to change the shortlink? Pls help me out, thanks in advance.

Google can take 4-6 weeks or more to add any new sites to its database. Be a little patient and Google will start indexing you new site.

Really? It only took me approx. 3-4 minutes to add my site to google. Well, how about the shortlink on my wordpress? It’s redirecting me to the old site address as I’ve mentioned.

It might not take that long but in any case, you can also submit a request for removal from the Google index.

It’s updated now, it took not very long. I also submitted that request for removal. It was very helpful, thank you! I will mark this resolved now.
