new site: confirm email address not working

I’m attempting to set up a new site, and have not received the confirming email despite resending it multiple times. I have double checked, and the email address is entered correctly.
Can you help? I won’t be able to launch my site if I can’t confirm my email. -

We’ve sent you the verification email multiple times, but it’s bouncing back due to timeouts at your email provider.
Please contact support at your email provider and fix whatever issue on that end is preventing them from receiving our emails. Or otherwise please update your WordPress.com account email to a different address where you can receive emails from us – that will automatically trigger a new verification email to the new address.
