New Site Issues

  Hello

  I have just launched my new site – wwwlindsaycheesmancbt.wordpress.com but I am having a couple of issues.

  – I have customised the selected theme on the site (a free theme) to use a different colour set (purple). However I can see it when editing the site in the interface but now the site is live it retains the original theme colour set (green). How do I rectify this?
  – Also the menu I have created specifically has the social share links unselected, but they are appearing on the front-end on every page

  Can you please assist?

  Do you mean https://lindsaycheesmancbt.wordpress.com/? The address you posted above, wwwlindsaycheesmancbt.wordpress.com, doesn’t exist.

  I don’t see anything colored purple or green on either your site or in the Customizer. Where exactly did you make this color change?

  I don’t see a social links menu active on your site. Did you manage to figure this out?

  Yes apologies I did mean that link you stated.

  So the social share links I managed to remove, found a historic support article. For the colours though I had to make some changes since my last post as I had some complaints that certain text was unreadable on the website.

  So I customized the theme to one of the 3 colour palette options available – but it seems that if I want to start customizing the text colours specifically (e.g. make titles a colour not in the palette) then how it actually appears on the site doesn’t match with the editor. So it’s impossible to know how it actually appears.

  Thank you for the response, and yes that is the correct site that you posted.

  I managed to find a old support article on how to remove the social share links so that is all sorted.

  Hi there,

  With the colours I had to switch back to one of the 3 pre-set palettes as I got some feedback that text wasn’t readable. But basically if I change any text to some custom colours that aren’t in the palette (e.g. the headings) then this doesn’t get reflected in the editor so I can’t see how it looks on the front end until I publish it.

  Have you tried the “preview” link at the top, next to the publish button? This will allow you to see what something looks like “on the site” before you publish.

  

  I may not be understanding however, as I did not see any headings on your site that were using custom colors. If you can point that out to me I’m happy to take a closer look, but due to the fact that custom colors do not show up in the editor view (which displays the default theme colors) the best bet is to preview the page/post periodically to see how your changes will look on the live site.
