New Site, Old Domain

  Hello. I am looking to switch from wix to word press. I already have a domain name which I would like to transfer from wix to word press. However, I want my site to be life on wix until I build a word press site. How do I proceed?

  Many thanks for reaching out.

  You do have the ability to build a site here at WordPress.com, on a different default domain (something like example.WordPress.com) away from the site at Wix, behind the scenes.

  When the site is built, you can then either transfer the domain from Wix or map the domain from Wix.
