new site’s homepage will.not display any of my text

    Suggestions I have an in search, to clear the cache, can’t be done, as no cache option is visible anywhere, searched all through the settings options and tools options for it.
    When I started and restarted the site, the default homepage would not edit at all. It would only give me options to continue designing the site, and never returned from that trail to being able to edit the page.
    When I create another page then nominate it to be homepage. I get the page editing screen entirely as normal, and if I give back to it to edit again, the page editing screen has remembered the edits, as normal. But none of these edits ever show on the actual homepage at its URL. No edits have ever appeared on the homepage at its URL, nothing will change that it shows only ‘hey world’ in a blank screen.
