New Spam?
-
I just wanted to know if this was a new spammer case, or if someone’s having fun with me.
Just a few minutes ago, I was informed of a new comment from this guy (nasswer); email add: nasswer AT gmail.com.
What made me suspicious of whether the guy was actually legit was this little phrase: as-94783-sa before the actual comment itself. There was only one other person who got that phrase; the link provided by that person (different ID) was onlinemarketingreport.blogspot.com
So… is it spam? And is anyone else having this problem?

I think it IS spam. A couple of hours ago I got a barely-literate, porn-related post from someone whose email addy is (email visible only to moderators and staff). He/She/It didn’t leave a URL, though, so I left the comment up. Maybe they’re trawling to see what we delete and what we don’t.
But she went on about some sex toy, and mentioned one by name. Being a big, suspicious meanie I deleted the brand name and left the post, making fun of her. Will let you know what happens
PS when is WordPress gonna fix the comment post box so it doesn’t run off the right-hand side of the page in Explorer 6? That’d be cool, cuz I can’t scroll to see if I spelled everything correctly.

I got the same comment as the first poster above. It was on a non-existent post, so I assume it was spam and deleted it.

I’ve marked the comment as spam and deleted it just to be safe. Thanks guys.
Marking this post as resolved.

Yeah happened to me as well, with the name Peter and linking to Google.com.

It’s really important not to just delete such spam but instead to mark it as spam so akismet can learn.
