New static homepage
-
Hi, I am trying to build new site. When I follow the instructions for static page . “Now head to Settings >> Reading and scroll until you see “Front page displays”: this is where you’ll find the option to switch your homepage” I see no option for front page displays under reading??? I click reading under setting and a reading settings page comes up. Was something changed??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
To do that create two pages (one for the front page and one for the posts) http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
