New statistics page is useless

    The new statistics page is useless. I am unable now to get a complete picture on one screen. I provided feedback on survey about on the survey. The new stats page is completely inappropriate for PC users – those of us enjoy using large screens.

    One thing that is missing from the new version that is partly annoying from an information point of view is there is now no ‘yesterday’/’today’ comparison.

    The old stats pages was one of the key reasons for using WordPress and was one of the main reasons I frequently checked my blog. Now the experience is simply disappointing.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I agree with everything in the opening post.

    I have been clicking on the link to the old stats, but this has also now gone.

    Is it possible to access the old stats page now?

    The link to the old stats page is no longer at the top of the new stats page. There is a button at the bottom of the new stats page that still links to the old stats page.

    The disappearance of the link at the top of the new stats page is not a good move on WordPress’ part. Limiting access to the old stats page does nothing to improve the new stats page – and I agree with the original poster in this thread that the new stats page is useless. Not an “upgrade” or “improvement”, no matter how many times WordPress calls it that.

    Also, clicking on the statistics graphic at the top of the classic admin page is now going to the new stats page, not to the old stats page as it did before.

    Thanks for the feedback. If you scroll to the bottom of the new stats page, there is a link to the old as seen here:

    Screen Shot

    As for the big picture to compare between days I am able to see this:

    Screen Shot

    Then when I click on the actual days, I can see the difference in views, visitors, likes, and comments.

    Why put the link at the bottom of the “new” Stats page when all of us who prefer the older Stats’ pages do not want to scroll forever?

    The same with the “new, too-blue” editor, we have to go to the bottom to click the link to use the “classic” editor each time we clear our cookies.

    Then there is the clutter of having a sentence and link to the “new, too-blue” editor at the top of the “classic” editor so we have to see that every time we post/edit.

    These “changes” are all downgrades. More clicks, less efficient use of our time and our patience.

    @gracejiyoung
    WordPress obviously made a conscious decision to remove the more accessible link to the old stats page (the one at the top of the new page). Burying the remaining link at the very bottom of the new page is not going to make the design of the new stats page any more acceptable or useful. If a significant number of users were clicking on links to get to the old stats page ,that is valuable feedback for WordPress.

    Comparing the old and new stats chart:

    – The old one shows six weeks, the new one just over one week
    – The old one shows roll-over statistics for each day when you point at it, the new one doesn’t
    – The old one has a convenient link to summary statistics, the new one doesn’t. I don’t even know where this link is now, other than on the old stats page.

    How this can be described as an “upgrade” escapes me.

    One thing that makes it less bad than it might be is that Ctrl-End takes you straight to the link to the old page, so it’s just three extra clicks every time we want to look at the stats.

    @Staff
    The main thread for feedback is here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/stats-classics-how-to-set/page/8?replies=219
    However, there are multiple threads and there are bloggers who are posting into more than one thread. It would make sense to have close all of these redundant threads and leave only one open so that’s what I am requesting.
