New stats page
-
Am I the only one who doesn’t like the new stats page? It is much more complicated than the old one. I don’t want to use it at all.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
No.
This mantra has been going on for some time now, how wordpress is persistent in catering to the iPhone Android crowd.
Bloggers like me who use laptops and desktops go to the wayside, which is odd since typing and writing is easier in these modes.
Anyways, you’re not alone. My wordpress experience gets more and more frustrating with each passing year.
Happy Holidays

If you have no specific issues that you need help with you can blow off steam here in this feedback thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/editor-feedback?replies=749
If you want to know why these past two years have been dominated by user interface changes that have made desktop blogging more difficult and time-consuming, and less enjoyable you can read these:

You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and for viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/

I also do not like the presentation of the new stats page. But WordPress is now using this new view as the default when one clicks on the “View All” button in the Stats corner of the Home page of Dashboard.
How do I get this to revert to the previous standard view for my blog?
-
The comment above gave me a link to get to the old stats page, but I don’t know how to avoid going to the new stats. I don’t like it at all. The information is all over the place. The old page was much better. Why change something for the sake of changing?
-
Yes, I had noticed that that one could still get to the old (and much better, as you note) view for the Site Stats page by clicking the “Site Stats” button on the left panel under the Dashboard. But the “View All” button in the Stats section of the page takes one to the new Stats view by default, and I would like to change that. I am also worried that WordPress will soon close down entirely the previous Stats page format.
-
I also don’t like the new way to write a post. I use the old one, but I suppose one day they will just take it away. I really like WordPress most of the time, but why do they change things that work?
-
I suspect that WordPress does not want to maintain parallel interfaces and would rather shoehorn all of the users into one platform.
From a business sense, this must make sense to the folks who run the show. If this could be done (without reducing functionality), perhaps it is a good idea. However, the changes we’ve seen so far, have not maintained, let alone improved the WordPress “experience” for me.
