New Stats page causes 100% CPU use & unresponsive Chrome tab

  Stats page causes 100% CPU use. Makes Chrome tab unresponsive. Please help me figure out how to fix this.

  That’s rather odd. This is the first time we’ve heard of that.

  Do you have the same trouble with Firefox?

  Just downloaded Firefox & tried in there. It worked just fine. CPU never ran to 100%. Tab remained responsive.

  Also tried in Internet Explorer and it works fine in there too. Just the layout is different. But, tab remains responsive.

  It just has issues in Chrome. My ver is 18.0.1025.54.

  On a side note, there are several people in Twitter complaining about the same thing: lock-up in Chrome.

  I don’t see the problem myself, but Chrome 18 is also the beta release, which we can’t directly support.

  In this case, I’d start by disabling all extensions. If that doesn’t help, there might be an issue with the beta release.

  Thanks for checking on your end.

  The Chrome browser automatically updates itself on my machine. I need to figure out how to downgrade to a previous version. The WordPress.com “My Stats” page used to work just fine for me. I think the Chrome version I’m running may be problematic.

  Do you have any suggestion on where I can go to download a previous revision of Chrome? I will test it later this evening and post the results here.

  You might try downloading a fresh copy of Chrome here:
  http://google.com/chrome/

  Otherwise, you’ll need visit Google’s site for support with this.

  I uninstalled Chrome and downloaded a previous version (17.0.963). The WordPress.com “My Stats” tab does not lock up the browser anymore. It doesn’t peg the CPU either.

  Looks like there is something the issue with the latest version of Chrome.
