new stats page freezes up browser

    Hello,

    I have noticed that the new stats page WP is about to roll out seems to freeze up the browser tab in which it’s open. I’m using the latest Chrome version.

    The page loads but then freezes and become unresponsive, while it sends the hard-drive into endless delirium. I emphasise that this only happens with the new stats page.

    Is there some software embedded in the page that I can perhaps disable? Could you maybe suggest some other solution?

    Can you please try clearing out your cache and cookies?
    Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox.

    Thanks for the reply.

    No, clearing cache and cookies didn’t solve the issue. However, there doesn’t seem to be an issue with FireFox, although the page didn’t load completely (the sorting tabs were missing).

    Any other ideas? I really don’t want to have to switch browsers every time I want to check my stats!

    What Chrome version are you using? please make sure that you are not using the Beta version.

    18.0.1025.56 beta-m

    It’s the latest version. Do you think this has something to do with it?

    Yes, this problem only occurs on the beta version. Please reinstall Google Chrome using this link: https://www.google.com/chrome

    Okay, that fiexed it! I uninstalled Chrome and re-installed it and now it’s fallen back to version 17.0.963.79 m

    Still don’t understand what happened there or how to avoid it in the future – I just tend to let Chrome upgrade itself automatically…

    Thanks a lot for your help – and the new stats page is sweet! Just a question – will it capture all the visits from now on (there seems to be discrepancy between the number of hits and the sum of reported hits from countries or referrers)?

    In the “Views by Country” section, can you try the Summaries link? There’s a lot of other countries listed there.
