New Subscriber Confused Over Payment

    I need your help please. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to try and get my blog started.
    I was working today to try and create the blog when I noticed that for most things I’d like to do I needed to pay. Also noticed that it says I have no “Plan”. When I originally signed up with you I was asked to provide credit card information and I though this was just for you to have on file.
    I now find that you charged me $60 via paypal on August 12 and my bank confirmed that charge to my Visa on August 14.
    Please advise what this charge is for.
    Also, do you have a tie to a company “NewBlueFX” as I received an email from them but the header said “WordPress” (actually it was from “(email visible only to moderators and staff)) so I thought it was from you.

    I can confirm I see no upgrades under your @scot21c WordPress.com account. You can also see this here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/

    Is it possible that you have another account with us under a different login? If so I would not be able to see that charge, but with some more info we’re happy to take a closer look.     This will allow you send a direct message to our billing support team, and from there they will reach out to you directly via email since transaction info is best not shared in this public forum.

    To clarify, aside from the WordPress site you get here at WordPress.com, it is also possible to set up a self-hosted WordPress site, which are sites that you create on a “traditional web host” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.

    These sites are “WordPress” sites, but they use the free open-source version of the WordPress software, which is a bit different from what we offer here.

    I can confirm that newbluefx.com uses this other version of WordPress, so we’re not connected to that site and I’m not able to take a closer look, but I can clarify that it is typical for a site that uses the open-source platform to have “wordpress” in the email address, but it is not the same as having “wordpress.com” in the address… those are ones that come from us. ;)

    Thank you for responding. I have submitted the requested form and await your reply. FYI in the form I omitted to mention it appeared the payment was to “automattic.com” and also didn’t mention the transaction ID number. I don’t know if these data are important.
