New Theme idea

  Can you add a military-style theme to the selections? Camouflage design, maybe?

  There are bloggers from around the world blogging at wordpress so “military style theme” is not meaningful. I assume you mean American but how would staff know that you didn’t mean Russian?

  The process is to find a wordpress.org blog theme that you like. Then to contact Support including a link to the theme and the reasons you want to see such a theme introduced.

  Well, camouflage colors aren’t really specific to any nationality, are they?

  Ok..let me clarify. I’m a retired AMERICAN SOLDIER. All I am asking is if you are able to create anew theme with camouflage colors: woodland, desert, whatever. Thanks.

  I also sent a request to the support address you gave me, timethief. I asked if they could either create a camouflage design (woodland pattern like on the old BDUs) or one with a function to select designs and patterns corresponding to branches of the American armed forces. Hopefully, they’ll answer.

  Er, why does a lack of a military “ethos” have to be an issue? All I’m proposing is a new theme. It doesn’t have to have a “military” symbol on it, just maybe a camouflage pattern. Sheesh.

  I’m not sure if you understand this or not and most bloggers don’t so I’ll take the time to explain.

  If you think that wordpress has theme designers on staff who make themes to specs then think again. The designers are independent. They are not on staff and they design themes for wordpress.org software.

  Only a few of the the themes they develop for wordpress.org software are later chosen and “adapted” to run on the wordpress.com software, which is different from the wordpress.org software.

  And it takes a very long time indeed to have a new theme introduced even when there is strong end user support for it.

  Keeping the foregoing in mind IMO the likelihood that an independent designer will choose to create a military style camouflage theme any time soon is at best remote. Therefore, I would suggest that you choose a theme with a customizable header and create a camouflage one for it.
