New Theme Preview Bugs

  Trying to preview a new theme (ambiru) for one password controlled blog (currently in fjords) showed fjords only

  Trying to preview a new four column theme (fjords) on a blog currently in two columns (christmas) seemed to pull content from my other blogs into the additional columns

  Well, the Preview option is new today (wasn’t there last night when I was browsing the themes at least), so there may be little bugs left. Be sure to report them to the WordPress.com staff through the form or by email.

  I have had the same thing happening I think. The sidebars wind up on the bottom on some of the themes I’ve viewed. I wondered if it was just me or what.

  I don’t want to bother staff with this if it’s a problem that others can help me figure out – has anyone else complained about this problem? Could it be photo size or YouTube videos that won’t go on some of the themes?

  Ideas, thoughts? Please?

  Usually it’s photo size that does that. Some columns are narrower than others, and if your pic is too big in some cases it causes sidebars to drop to the bottom. In others, the pix get cut off (this is what happens with YouTubes in narrow themes).

  I’m not sure why, but every time I try to preview a new theme, it shows my current theme in the viewer even though at the top left hand corner it says it’s previewing the new theme. I’ve tried about 6 or 7 different themes, different # of columns and the same thing. I thought it was just me, and when I thought about sending a note, it was over the weekend.

  I’ve tried it under my IE7 and my Mozilla Firefox browsers and get the same results.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Definitely sounds like it wasn’t installed properly on your blog. Drop a line to staff duriing staff hours (if any) using your Support button on the Dashboard.
