new themes?

When is wordpress going to get on the ball and get some decent new themes? I see a ton of amazing themes for places like blogger.com but I love wordpress and would love to have the same amazing theme setup as blogger.

Wow! am I ever surprised at the arument you are making for more themes. It just dosen’t “hol water” and this is why.
I am an experienced wordpress., tumblr and blogspot blogger. I have blogs on all those platforms including a self hosted wordpress.ORG install.
The alleged “amazing” blogspot template choices I am viewing on my blogspot dashboard right now are 16 in number. And right out of the box they do not validate. In fact, some produce over 300 HTML markup errors. They also produce CSS errors.
In contrast, there are over 70 choices provided by wordpress.com and most do validate.
On the web I can find zillions of free blogspot themes and it’s no surprise that I recognize many have been adapted from wordpress themes to run on Blogger, nor is it a surprise that the vast and overwhelming majority which have been “adapted” also do not validate.
If you have a blogspot blog then I challenge you to run it through this HTML validator and witness the results you get. http://validator.w3.org/
Then I challenge you to run it through the CSS validator and witness the results you get http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/Asking for new themes is your prerogative and I don’t take issue with your request. If you have located free wordpress.ORG themes on the internet that you would like to see adapted to run on wordpress.COM, and they are GPL licensed, and they do not contain sponsored links, hidden links, etc. then please post the urls and Staff will look at them.
