New titles, Old posts
-
When I add a new post, then try to open the post from my front page, archive widget, facebook page, etc. , the post opens with the new title, but text from an older post. If I return to the facebook page, etc. and re click, I get the correct post. But the next time, it happens again. This continues to happen with that post until I enter a new post. Then the previous one is stable, but the same thing happens with the new one.
Help! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please post URLs that are examples. Better still post screenshots. You can use http://snag.gy/ to share screenshots. Or you can use the WordPress.com guide I linked to and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.

I have added two pictures to my media library:
Blog Problem 1 shows my new post as it appears on my home page with the correct content.
Blog Problem 2 shows what happens when I open the post. The correct title is displayed with content from a previous post.If I return home and click again, it is corrected, but after logging out and logging back in, it happens again.
This also happens when the link is accessed from facebook, etc.
Thanks! -
Hi Diane,
Thanks for including the screenshots! I just tested several links including the one on your home page and in your archive widget on your sidebar. I also tried the link from your Facebook post here:
All of those links take me to the same post shown here, which matches your “Pic 1”:
Can you clear your browser cache and see if this issue is still occurring? Instructions can be found here:
-
I cleared the browser cache. It did not work. Any other suggestions?
This happens regardless of the computer I am using. I tried accessing my blog through a friend’s computer login and facebook account and the problem was the same. -
Hi Diane,
When you click the link from your Facebook page, you should be linked to the following URL:
If that’s not the page you land on, could you please provide the URL (from the address bar in your browser) that you’re linked to?

I have recently posted a new post (10/17) and am experiencing the same problem. When I first open my new “Better Late Than Never ” post, the title and image are correct, but the content is from my Sept. 4th “British Invasion: Part Two” post. The URL is beyondtheiep.wordpress.com/2014/10/17/better-late-than-never . I then returned HOME, reclicked on the 10/17 post and the post opened with the correct title and content. The URL was the same as above This happens with my new posts only. I took screen shots showing the content and the URL’s but can’t see how to attach them to this note.
Thanks. -
Hi Diane,
That’s really odd! Whenever I click the link on the “Better Late Than Never” post, I’m directed straight to that post at the following URL:
beyondtheiep.wordpress.com/2014/10/17/better-late-than-never
I can’t get it to take me to the “British Invasion: Part Two” post at all. Can you upload those screenshots to your Media Library?
Also, just to clarify, this is still happening intermittently when you click on the “Better Late Than Never” post correct? It wasn’t just a one-time thing?
-
Hello again. Yes, as you say, you will be directed to the post at that URL, BUT, under the title, “Better Late Than Never” the CONTENT/TEXT is from an older post ( “In the 60’s…. from “British Invasion..”. in this case.. in earlier posts that were new posts, the content was from other older posts, so this seems to be an issue with the dates of the posts.). It will not take you to the “British Invasion post, but the CONTENT/TEXT/Script from the British Invasion post will appear in the newer post with the beyondtheiep.wordpress.com/2014/10/17/better-late-than-never URL. See blog-graphic 1025 in my media library and note the URL/Title and THEN THE CONTENT of the post. It is the content from the British Invasion Post. “In the 60’s it was the Beatles”… Then see the blog-problem-1025 image in my media library and you will see the same URL/TITLE with the correct content for that post. You have to look at the text, not just the title and URL to see the problem. Again, this happens with my newest posts and continues to happen with that post until I publish a new post. It then occurs for the new post.
Thanks! -
Hi Diane,
That’s really strange! I see the same thing when I visit your post and then come back to it. I’m sorry for the trouble!
I’ve asked our developers to take a look to see if they can sort out why that’s happening on your blog. We’ll let you know as soon as we have an update about that.
-
Hi Diane,
Our team is still investigating this, but they were hoping for more details about what happens when you publish a new post. Does the content from the “British Invasion …” post always show up in the new post? Or is it different (incorrect) content for each new post you publish?
-
With every new post I have published, this has happened, but the content (incorrect content) that appears has not always been from “British Invasion.” It seems to be related to the dates and order the posts are published. For example, with my “Bring it On” post, published, Oct. 2nd, the incorrect content from my August 20th post, “Disability Speak 101” appeared. A Screen Shot of this is in my Media Library named blog-problem 2 .________________________________________

Thanks, Diane! I’ll make sure our team has those details and your screenshots so they can keep investigating this.

Hi Diane,
Sorry for the delay! One of our developers was able to track down the cause of this problem with your posts and get it fixed. You shouldn’t see the problem with the wrong post content showing up on your posts anymore.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
