new to blogging and how to get started

  I’m completely new to blogging and not yet familiar with many of the terms or details.

  How does one make money using adsense and wordpress.com? Do you have to pay for a host and domain name?

  What is the difference in starting a blog and a website?

  I am looking to start a blog or website similar to failblog.org. I will post pictures and youtube videos and such.

  What if you wanted to start a website and already have this blog. Can you transfer the material, or do you change the domain name, or something else?

  If you require advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
