new to this help!

I have just activated the freshy theme. I bought the “edit css” upgrade. I want to get rid of a few elements… I need it to look like a website not a blog.
first problem… 1. when I cut and paste the style sheet into the place where i can edit it… I lose all the color and photos from the original.
so is there a way tp prevent this?
2. how do i get rid of any signs that it is a blog…. i.e the dates, the bottom where it says design by jive etc…
thank you!
I am a copywriter in nyc who trying to do her own art direction… eek!! :)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Um…I only see the default theme activated in the blog associated with your name: http://karengstarc.wordpress.com/ You really should give the full link for your blog.
Anyway, as for #2, I don’t think it can be done on wp.com.

Here is how you write a usable, clickable, live link:
http://sneppahs.wordpress.com/The site you refer to is not a WordPress.COM blog. It is using WordPress.ORG software.

Like I said…. I am new to this…and a copywriter, not a website designer, or designer of any sort……

p.s. tess… I really love your blog! been to Japan a few times and am in love with the food.

Oh, thanks for the compliment! I’ve never been to Japan, but would love to go.
No worries, we were all new once. Sorry, I don’t know anything about CSS. Have you purchased the upgrade? There are only a couple of volunteers here who pop into the forum once in a while.

With teh CSS upgrade you are pretty much on your own. There are only two volunteers in the forum who really know their CSS and one has been away for over a month and the other only drops in rarely. I’m sorry to tell you you’re pretty much on your own.
However: if you’re smart enough to be a copywriter, you’re probably smart enough to get most of what you need to know by reading the references linked at the top of the CSS forum.
