New to this. Theme/display acting erratically. Problem at my end.

If there is a thread on this, please point me on. I’ve searched but cannot find anything on point. I wasn’t sure which categories to put this in. Hope I came close
I have recently set up my first blog. Yesterday, my view of my site and all wordpress.com blogs started appearing in text, rather than in their themes. In addition, it appears that images are blocked as well.
This appears to be machine dependent, so I must have changed something at my end. I have three machines at the house, only one is exhibiting the problem.
It appears to be outside of the browser, as I have the same problem in both Firefox and IE.
I’ve shut down my firewall without affecting the problem. I’ve run through browser settings, firewall settings, and the like. So far no luck.
Interestingly, every once in a while, the site comes up properly in the browser. I have not yet found any pattern in when it works properly.
Any suggestions where I might look would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

It’s most likely a problem with your local network or ISP that’s preventing you from reaching some wordpress.com domains. CSS stylesheets and images are served from different wordpress.com servers and domain names. A computer that can’t reach those would have the symptoms you describe.

Thx. Further testing would seem to confirm. Two of the three machines use one ISP. The third uses another. The two machines on the same ISP are both exhibiting the same behavior. The third seems to act properly (Blackberry via Opera).
Now that you have me looking at the ISP, I think there may be a time of day pattern. (I’m on a cable). Things ran fine all morning, gave me trouble through the afternoon. Late last night things were running fine. It may map to the busy times on the cable.
Any “typical” options with the ISP or is that like fighting city hall?
