New to WordPress and hosting domain

  Dear Experts

  I am trying to start/host a blog site for the first time (please advise me also if I am in the wrong thread). I have registered my domain names and still reading reviews on finding the best and economical host server. But my question is not that….

  My site will be about technology and the way I wanted it to be setup is – as I start adding new blogs (content) and tag it in a particular category, the latest posts will need to show up as ‘Latest’ on the home page and the same time the main post should sit inside its own section (category) when the user goes through the menu.

  The next requirement is that I wanted to maintain a database of gadgets with all its specs and it must either show-up when the user clicks on a particular gadget or he can compare these with other similar on the fly.

  Since I am totally new to WordPress and the available templates, are these something that gets taken care of the moment I finalize a template? In other words do these features come packed with the type of template I choose? if not how do I go about it? I am going for WP hoping that I can manage all these myself with a little bit of learning.

  I am sure I can pick up quickly on any learnings that I come across particularly in terms of webpages etc as I understand the concept – this is just to give an idea about me.
