New to wordpress and i am not sure how to get started.

    Hi, I have downloaded wordpress from wordpress.org
    and i am having problems, or not sure what to do to open the site to upload a new plugin. I am moving from Wix and am very new to this. if you could guide me on how i upload a new plugin so i can start on creating my new site? I have tride to upload the new plugin (which I have purchased through Elegant themes) and i do not have access to adding a plugin. I appreciate your assistance. Kindly, Tracey

    Hello!

    I believe you are confusing wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG. Here is a breakdown of the compare and contrast between the two.

    Here on WordPress.COM the plugins are already installed and you can get more but upgrading your account. On WordPress.ORG you can download/upload a new plugin. You can also add a new plugin by following these steps on WordPress.ORG.

    The biggest notable difference is WordPress.ORG requires a third party hosting and WordPress.com provides the hosting (whether it be a free account or an upgraded version).

    You will have to visit your hosting providing and see where and how to install WordPress if you are only using the .ORG version.
