New to WordPress… Please help with the design

    I’ve always used osCommerce but decided to take the leap and move to an upto date platform!

    I love the backend and plugins! However the design side is frustrating. I can’t figure it out!

    My home page has the selected theme but all the other pages don’t. They just show as white pages with text/links but no design.

    It is a clean WordPress install with WooCommerce plugin. I’ve changed nothing.

    How do I make the theme the same on all pages as the home page?

    Hey @richard10100, can you link to the affected site? We’ll check it out and point you in the right direction for support.

    Note some of the page layout will come from your theme, and other aspects of the page will come from the content on them.

    If you want more control over individual page layout, choose a simpler FSE theme, but then be sure to add layouts as you’d like. Patterns can help:

    Also, these forums are for the sites hosted and managed here at WordPress.com, vs. sites using WordPress code with another host. If you’re not sure about your site, send a link, and we can point you in the right direction.

    Ah that is a shame I thought the forums was to support the open source, I didn’t realise it needed to be hosted here.
    Is there a different forum for support for people not hosted with you?

    It is actually only on a locahost as am only just getting started and haven’t looked at any hosting plans yet as am not sure what the end result will be yet.

    Customizing your site depends on the current theme you are using. You might have to refer to your theme’s setup guide. You could explore the features of your current theme and how to use them through this guide.
    You could also go through this documentation to see other customization options available.

    You could also take your theme customization to another level by using this customization guide.

    Lastly, as you are considering leaping to an up-to-date platform, should you choose to host your site with WordPress.com, you get a ton of features that might otherwise not be available to you. Hosting your site with WordPress.com lets you focus on building your business, while WordPress.com does the heavy lifting for you. When you host with WordPress.com, some of the features you get out of the box include (but are not limited to) Security, faster website(s) and performance, etc.

    Yup! There are several community forums for the free software project. Here’s a list of the main ones: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    Each plugin and theme from the .org repository has its own forum there, too.
