New to WP and need guidance

  I “think” WP is right for me but not sure. I want to move flypmsc.org to WordPress and it’s a very simple website with no bells or whistles with the two main objectives being getting away from FP2000 and making it so others can help with maintenance, and honestly the blog aspect is not all that important.

  Advise on the above and looking for a tutorial to help with the basics and CSS which I have purchased.

  You don’t need to make the new site look like the old site – you can jazz it up a bit – how about a header with a picture – or put a couple of pictures together and upload that as a header – Starting with a blank slate like your current Theme is really the hard way to do things.

  Use the “blog” part to send updates to your members and post changes and notices of say equipment maintenance or whatever – your members can subscribe to the new blog with email and then they get notices every time you make a new Post.
