New to WP – need theme advice!

    I’m brand new to WordPress, and I’m here to convert my existing site (which is generated by a standalone app) to WP. I’m doing this because all of the development and features/plugins that are easily available for WP sites that I can’t get (or can’t easily do) with my current site!

    Right now I need some help picking a theme. I want something that looks as close to my existing site as possible; I like the layout and the clean look, and would like to duplicate it to as great a degree as I can so that my readers/clients are too thrown by the change.

    I like the typography, the somewhat Apple-like look, the sidebar arrangement, and the rotating banner. This site is mobile responsive, and that’s a must for the new theme.

    Any and all suggestions will be welcome! (If you are uneasy with the idea of armed self defense, you probably shouldn’t click on the link – I’m in the business of self defense training, including firearms.)

    These are the available themes for WordPress.com.

    If you want specific plugins, these are the only ones available for WordPress.com. They are already pre-installed and you can’t install additional ones.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

    If you want more plugins or more themes, you might have to go the self-hosted (.org) route. You can find more info about self-hosting here:
