New Update Link Issue

  The internal link process is no longer working after the update. I was creating a page linking to each of the pages in a certain category, and the link process is not working. I have done it before (prior to the update) with no issues. I was able to do one, but it wouldn’t let me do another. I closed the post, reloaded, and it let me do one more. Tried again, did not work. Anyone else not able to link their posts after the most recent update to the new layout?

  Can you provide an example (post or page URL, link text, link URL) of a link from a page/post to another page/post that isn’t working?

  An alternative to manually creating such a page, if I understand you correctly, would be to use a dynamic category page instead. A category page is automatically created when a category is assigned to one or more posts. Links to such category pages may be added to a custom menu. See the Category Pages support page for relevant information and instructions.

  Hi,

  In a test I had no trouble creating a text link in my primary site, and I therefore suspect that the issue that you’ve described probably has a local cause. It may be a browser issue. If so, then the Browser Issues support page might be helpful.

  You might also like to try an easier alternative to manually updating a link list to posts with each new post. The Display Posts Shortcode may be inserted into any page, post, text widget, or comparable WordPress.com content type, and it is dynamic, meaning that the list it produces is automatically updated each time you publish a post that is selected by the code. The basic display posts shortcode looks like this:
  [display-posts]
  but there are also numerous customization option as described in the Arguments section of the Display Posts Shortcode support page.

  Are you using the Block Editor? I’m not sure what “recent update” and “new layout” you’re referring to.
