New user, Premium option – domain security error
-
Hi, I am new to WordPress. I purchased the Premium Option because I want the website address for my WordPress blog to be “www.stonesvinyl.com”. I purchased the domain name via Premium Option. I want it to specify “stones vinyl.com” in the browser…. Big problem is Internet Explorer gives me the ‘security certificate error’ whenever I type that website in my browser.
From what I can see online, this error is due to HTTPS. How can I change or setup my new blog to fix this? I wish any member of the public to type in the address without the certificate error. Many thanks for your help!!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
No domain on the internet has a space in it (stones vinyl.com as you have typed it above) and no domain on WPcom uses www (so not http://www.stonesvinyl.com).If your visitors type stonesvinyl.com (even without http://) they will arrive to your site without problem.

Don’t use https – that tends to give certificate errors – a few times when I sent links out there was https in them, even without a custom domain name some browsers will kick on a standard blog.
The error is the security certificate is because the certificate is for WordPress.COM not stonesvinyle.com –

Thank you both for your replies. I better understand now that the domain name I have purchased via Premium Option is “stonesvinyl.com” not “www.stonesvinyl.com”. That’s cool… But I was hoping there would be a way to eliminate the ‘security certificate error’ if someone arrived via HTTPS. Seems that is not possible (or easy to fix for a novice like me)?
