New User re: multiple blogs on domain

I just installed wordpress with bluehost.com on my domain. I am trying to discover how to (a) set up separate blogs for topics so that people can go straight to a blog that interests them, (b) have a way to show these blogs in a directory or menu of some type so that when users go to the site, they will be presented with a way to visit each blog. I realize that some of this info may be posted somewhere, but I’m so confused by some of the technical aspects that I was hoping someone could either explain simply, or send me to posted info that makes this as simple to understand as possible? Thanks SO much…I look forward to giving back in this forum once I have mastered things better.
