new user registration
-
Over the past 2 weeks, I have had 4-14 user registration on my site laura57.com. I set up wordfence and a MailChimp sync plugin. Are these signups a good thing? I get comments and if it has a link I don’t like I put it in spam. On the MailChimp side, about 4% are not real emails. I just do not understand this part of user registration. I do know I can stop them from signing up but is this something I want to do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Your site, laura57.com, is using the open source WordPress software and is not hosted on our servers on WordPress.com, so we have no control over it.
It sounds like you might have the setting enabled on your site to allow visitors to actually create their own user accounts on the site – a setting that’s only useful if you have a membership of ecommerce site. You can disable that setting under Settings ->General in the dashboard, and you can remove any users who shouldn’t be there under Users ->All Users.
For more help with this, please ask in the self-hosted WordPress forums instead, as that’s the best place for support with the version of WordPress you’re using:
