New User Registration

  I keep getting emails that say a new user has registered at my site. All of the email addresses are yahoo which leads me to believe it’s spam. How do I stop this?

  I have a yahoo email address for my blogs and I’m not a spammer. More to the point is the fact that we cannot help you as that site linked to your username is not hosted here at wordpress.COM.

  I’m sorry but you are posting to the wrong support forum. We cannot help you here at wordpress.COM because that site is not hosted here, our support docs do not apply to it, and we do not provide support for sites we do not host.

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.   If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

  I don’t understand why I’m getting all of these emails from WordPress.com that’s why I submitted the question to this forum.

  Go to your wordpress.COM notifications page https://wordpress.com/me/notifications
  where you can do this:
  Block Emails
  _Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com

  Thank you, will do that. Do you know why I’m receiving these emails in the first place? I don’t follow any blogs on here and don’t have a website

  You’re running a self-hosted WordPress site, which isn’t really supported here. However, if you go to Settings > General in your WordPress dashboard, and uncheck “Anyone can register”, you should no longer receive such emails.
