New user registration on my site

    I am receiving daily and sometimes hourly notices in my email inbox stating a different Username and Email. I don’t know what to do with this information. How do I use it or how can I stop it? The emails state:
    New User Registration on your site:
    Username:…..
    Email: …..
    Thanks for your help

    hi,

    Are those emails from users of piebooksblog.wordpress.com or some other blog ?
    If the users are from another blog, can you share the url here ?

    Hi there,

    What are the FROM addresses of those emails? Unless they’re coming from an @wordpress.com address, they’re not from us.

    It sounds like someone is using your email address to create new user accounts on random self-hosted WordPress sites. The emails you’re receiving is coming from those sites themselves, not from WordPress.com, and we have nothing to do with this as we don’t control those sites.

    Aside from contacting the owners of those sites to let them know this is happening, there’s not much you can do about this, so I suggest you set up a filter in your email account to just automatically delete these emails.
