new user registration problem with any role

It is not possible anymore to confirm the registration of new users. The Link to confirm does not produce a new user entry in the blog, the information waiting for confirmation (or similiar, blog is in german) stays in the “pending log” (bottom of the users list). In February it was still possible. What goes wrong?

Hello! If you invite a user that does not have a WordPress.com account, they’ll need to create an account, then go back to the email to confirm their invitation to the site.
If they clicked on the link, and were directed to create an account, they’ll need to go back and click on the confirmation link again.

I tried so, but it does not work. Also already registered users don’t get confirmed in the blog when they click on the Invitation accept button in the e-mail. They end up on the WordPress Login-page where they can log into their account, but they don´t get Access to my blog.
When I started the blog it was possible. -
I am having the exact same problem. I tried to define two new editors for my blog; they both received the invitation and both clicked the Accept Invitation. First they were presented with the Login screen asking for their WordPress ID and password. They didn’t have one, of course. So they went back to the email and tried the Accept Invitation again. Now they get greeted with options for setting up their own website — not for becoming a user on my blog. They don’t want their own website – they want access to my blog!!

Yes. They’ll need to log into their account and then click on the link again. There’s a bug with our invitations. They will not work if you are not already logged into the WordPress.com account when you click on the link.
Can you please have your users try that again?
If it still isn’t working, please let me know which users still can’t access your site.

Problem solved, thank you shawnajroberts!!! The important thing is, that the added user has to stay logged into the WordPress.com account while clicking on the accept Invitation link in the email!!!
southboundarysingers, you don’t have to create an own blog, you, or the user that should be added, just should register with an e-mail-adress and a username and stay with that logged in while clicking on the invitation-accept-link. -
