New User trying to access Admin Panel

    Hey there, I agreed to help some friends out with their website but I’m still very new to Word Press. Would you be able to give me some advise?

    I have the login information for their dashboard but the things they want changed (header, Google map display, pictures, etc) can not be changed in the dashboard. From what I can make out these things are controlled in the Admin Panels and Theme Settings. The problem is that I can’t access these things from the dashboard either.

    There’s two directions I think I could take but I’m not sure which to do (still very new at WP) Since the website was created by a local company I could ask them for the admin information (I’m assuming they would have it?). From what I’ve researched I may need to install Word Press on my machine to access the admin panels to change the header / images / map. Does this sound right?
