New users following my blog

  I don’t want new potential followers to have to hit “confirm follow” in their email after entering their email addresses on my blog. Its an additional step that users are not doing and I’m losing out on followers.

  This step is required to prevent fake followers (eg computer bots) to follow your blog and for example: leave spam comments.

  There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
