New Video Uploaders

  There are a large number of video uploaders out there, that still aren’t covered by WordPress, and some of them are regionals. These ones, are really interesting for those who, like myself and the authors of my blog, prefer videos adapted to our readers. That is why I would like to have http://videos.sapo.pt/ added to the video uploaders group, so that he can portuguese trailers from portuguese videos.

  Is that possible anytime soon?

  You’d need to suggest it using your feedback form, and speaking from experience it’s highly unlikely. There are just too many regions in the world to cater to them all. WP.com is probably best to concentrate on some universal video systems like they’re doing, and suggest that you transfer videos from smaller, group-specific platforms to more accessible ones.

  My suggestion is to download the videos you want and upload them to a platform that WP.com allows.

  Agreed. Do note that they only support video.google.com while teh other google sites are not supported.

  The Video tab under the Write area doesn’t support everywhere, but the main area supports more:

  [googlevideo=http://video.google.es/videoplay?docid=5430343841227974645]
  works.

  I’ll talk to Mike about the Video area.

  You mean all those times we’ve told people that the alternatate google video sites didn’t work…..

  I don’t recall seeing those recently, and it was some time back that I am certain the change was made. But I see many foreign language clips on sites so I guess most people are playing and finding it works.
