New Web Design Business
-
I am starting a new web design business. What is the best plan for m to go on. I can’t figure out, can you build multiple websites under one plan or is it one plan per website? Thank you

Hey there,
Many thanks for reaching out and this sounds very exciting!
Ok so it’s one plan per site, from the get go, and each plan has it’s own features that can be found here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Can you tell me if you were looking to pass on hosting costs to WordPress.com?
We can perhaps help to set something up that may be viable and future proofed for all!
Looking forward to hearing more!

Thank you for getting back to me. So just to double check, I would need to pay £20 per month to be able to install plugins and £30 per month to be able to have an online shop. Is that right?

Hi there, @stuartelwin!
Thanks for reaching back out!
You can install plugins and set up a store using WooCommerce on our Business plan. We offer both monthly, yearly, and biyearly billing options. The monthly Business plan is £32.00/month or the yearly Business plan is £240.00/year. There is a pretty significant saving in costs if you opt for the yearly or biyearly plan over the monthly plan.
If you tell me a bit more about the site(s) you are looking to create, I would be happy to recommend the best solutions for what you have in mind. For example, what is the primary purpose of your site? What specific features or functionalities would you like to have on your website?
Looking forward to hearing from you!

I have a circle of small business which need websites. I have a reasonable understanding of WordPress as I have built a few websites before

this was a while ago and someone else setup the WordPress backend and hosting. So I just designed and manipulated the theme. This will be my first time starting from the beginning. I am surprised by the cost. I thought you could buy a license or similar to do multiple websites. This seems like a big cost for the small businesses that I would be servicing? I’m sure this is just my ignorance!
Most of my companies will be basic but with the requirement to add plugins like booking systems. Some may require shops. Is there any other way of going about it or are those two packages the best for me?

Thank you for reaching back out, @stuartelwin!
We are a managed WordPress host. Here at WordPress.com, you don’t have to download software, pay for hosting, or manage a web server. You can instead focus on creating unique content and let us handle the rest.
If using a bookings plugin is important, I would recommend the Business plan.
Alternatively, we do have a built-in Calendly integration. You can add a Calendly booking form on your site using the Calendly Block:
Calendly is a popular tool for easy and efficient scheduling, useful if you want your site visitors to book a specific time slot in your calendar for online and offline meetings directly on your site. It integrates with your personal calendar so you can avoid missing or double-booking appointments. Calendly offers both free and paid versions and you can use either on your site depending on theCould you tell us how many sites you are looking to build? Maybe we can look at offering a bulk discount here.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
