New Web Site with a Paywall
-
I am considering using WordPress to create a new business web site that will have a paywall. Can you please answer the following questions?
Several of the pages on the new web site will come from Excel spreadsheets converted into web pages contained in either HTML or a Javascriipt file. Can such a fully created web page be easily dropped into a domain and web page created using WordPress?
We will also be wanting to do frequent ( at least 20 per hour ) of data to the web pages behind the paywall. How easily can this be done?
Can we attach a macro to a web page?
Which can be readily run by the viewer?
Or sound an alarm if certain data in the web page has specified values? If we use Woocommerce for the paywall, how frequently will they account for and p;ay over the subscriptions they have received? Do they levy any transaction fees?
Many Thanks,
Leonard Harris

Hi there,
Can such a fully created web page be easily dropped into a domain and web page created using WordPress?
No, we cannot host pages made outside of WordPress, but you might find that our page and site editors are all you need:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
https://wordpress.com/support/full-site-editing/We will also be wanting to do frequent ( at least 20 per hour ) of data to the web pages behind the paywall. How easily can this be done?
We have a fully featured API that you can make use of: https://developer.wordpress.com/docs/api/
Can we attach a macro to a web page?
Which can be readily run by the viewer?
Or sound an alarm if certain data in the web page has specified values? We don’t have functionality for that built-in, but with a paid Business Plan or higher, you can install third-party plugins, and you might find what you’re looking for there: https://wordpress.org/plugins/
If we use Woocommerce for the paywall, how frequently will they account for and p;ay over the subscriptions they have received?
If you use WooCommerce for that, you have full control over how much they’re charged and how frequently.
Do they levy any transaction fees?
That will depend on which payment gateway you choose: https://woocommerce.com/product-category/woocommerce-extensions/payment-gateways/?categoryIds=1023&collections=product&page=1
Please let us know if you have any more questions!
