  Hi, I have one website that I creating using WordPress. I’d like to create a totally separate, new site. Can I do this, and if so–how?

  Hi,

  You can create as many sites as you want on WordPress.com. Do you want to create the separate site under the same WordPress.com account? If so, you can just go to http://wordpress.com/start and you’ll be able to create a new WordPress.com site for free.

  Hi clarkhall,

  I can see both of your domains are registered to the same site. Did you want to switch the primary domain (the domain that’s shown on the browser)? If so, you can go to http://wordpress.com/my-domains and you’ll be able to select the primary domain for your site.

  I guess I don’t understand the difference between a domain and a site. I thought they were one in the same.
  I would like to leave the Utahplumberinsurance as it is so people can contact me there for insurance. Can I set up a new site using Rocky mountain risk management that is unrelated to the other site and start using it for a different business?

  Hi clarkhall,

  A domain is simply the address of a destination. A destination is a site. Right now, both of your domains (addresses) have the same destination (site). It is possible to have two separate sites for the separate domains. Do you already have a site for the domain that you want to move?

  If not, please go to http://wordpress.com/start and create a new WordPress.com site for free. Then let me know the domain that you want to transfer to the new site and the WordPress.com address of the site you’ve just created.

  Hi,

  Let me clarify a few things first so that I can understand better what you’re trying to achieve.

  The site rockymountainriskmanagementdotcom.wordpress.com has both of the domains rockymountainriskmanagement.com and utahplumberinsurance.com. The new site you’ve created is, as you said, rockymountainriskmanagement.wordpress.com. Which of he above domains do you want to move to this site?
