  HI, I am not sure if i should map or transfer my domain name. How does one decide which to choose?

  Hi,

  it depends on you and your domain. If you transfer your domain, you’ll be able to manage everything in one place and won’t need to pay two different companies.
  Some domains, however, can’t be transferred to WordPress.com, you can see more details here:

  If your domain can’ be transferred here, you’ll want to map it instead.
